Christine Dodd

Christine is the CEO and Founder of eldernavigator.com. She began her career as a health care legislative aid in the U.S. House of Representatives writing key pieces of legislation including significant provisions in the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act. She also worked as a health care lawyer in three major law firms: Squire Patton Boggs, Calfee Halter & Griswald and Arnall, Golden & Gregory. She returned to Washington, DC to work in the U.S. Senate on many key pieces of legislation involving electronic health records, generic drugs, and the creation of Medicare Part D. Later, as a lobbyist for IBM, she lobbied on key amendments to the Affordable Care Act including demonstration projects for the medical home and health information technology. She returned to Ohio in 2010 to lobby on federal and state funding for hospitals and health care institutions as well as writing federal health care grants for hospitals and universities — winning $12.7 million for University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children to create a pediatric medical home for children with complex chronic conditions. She also has been a leader in telemedicine policy and advocated for Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement for telemedicine services in Ohio and DC. She has intimate knowledge of the health care system particularly the rules and regulations and has used her background and expertise to help elders and their caregivers navigate the health care system in Northeast Ohio
